EXETER TWP., Pa. \u2013\u00a0During its Committee of the Whole meeting Tuesday night, the\u00a0school board of Exeter Township School District agreed to advance its final $92 million 2026-27 budget to the June 16 voting meeting.<\/p>\n
The adoption of the budget will also mean a 3.5% hike in property taxes.<\/p>\n
Property owners in the township currently pay a tax rate of 37.0024 mills.<\/p>\n
With a 3.5% increase, the taxes will rise to 38.2975 mills, meaning a property assessed at $100,000 would have an annual tax bill of $3,830.<\/p>\n
The tax increase is needed to close a budget gap to submit a balanced budget to the state by July 1.<\/p>\n
The board did not have any further discussions on the budget or the tax increase Tuesday night, nor did any members of the public have comments.<\/p>\n
