The Erie Otters continued an active day of roster moves across the Ontario Hockey League, acquiring forward Liam Beamish from the Sarnia Sting.<\/p>\n
The Otters announced Tuesday that they acquired Beamish in exchange for Brantford’s third-round pick in the 2028 OHL Priority Selection and Erie’s fifth-round pick in 2028.<\/p>\n
Beamish, a native of Beamsville, Ontario, spent parts of the last two seasons with Sarnia after being selected by the Sting in the eighth round of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection. During the 2025-26 season, he recorded 33 points on 11 goals and 22 assists in 66 games.<\/p>\n
The 5-foot-11 forward is committed to Penn State University.<\/p>\n
One area where the Otters hope Beamish can make an immediate impact is in the faceoff circle. Beamish won more than 55 percent of his faceoffs last season.<\/p>\n
“I’m super pumped and excited to get things started in Erie,” Beamish said in a statement released by the team. “I’ve heard nothing but good things about everything there and can’t wait to get to work and be a part of this team.”<\/p>\n
Otters General Manager Dave Brown said the organization had been interested in Beamish for some time and believes he will fit well within the team’s plans.<\/p>\n
“We are absolutely ecstatic about this trade,” Brown said. “Liam is a player we’ve talked about time and time again, and having him on board with the organization fires up everyone involved.”<\/p>\n
Brown highlighted Beamish’s success in the faceoff circle and his overall style of play as factors that made him an attractive acquisition.<\/p>\n
