BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA \u2014 One person was killed and two injured in a multi-car crash Tuesday afternoon in Bensalem after a car went airborne near the intersection of Bristol Road and Chestnut Avenue.<\/p>\n
Bensalem Township police said the crash happened at 4:48 p.m. Responding officers found the driver dead after being partially ejected from a Toyota RAV4 that had overturned during the crash.<\/p>\n
Authorities said the driver had been involved in a domestic-related incident in Lower Southampton Township before the crash.<\/p>\n
Police said he fled eastbound on Bristol Road at a high rate of speed.<\/p>\n
The car crossed into oncoming traffic while attempting to pass another vehicle and struck a Hyundai Kona, police said.<\/p>\n
The Toyota then became airborne, struck a Honda SUV and a Ford pickup truck, and ultimately rolled over.Following the initial impact, the Hyundai Kona left the roadway and came to rest after striking a fence on Bristol Road.<\/p>\n
Two people were injured but the extent of their injuries were unknown at this time.<\/p>\n
The identity of the deceased driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police said.<\/p>\n
At this time, it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. The investigation remains active and ongoing.<\/p>\n
