Michael Missanelli, 70, of Wynnewood, was arrested by Lower Merion Police on Wednesday, April 8, and charged with Misdemeanor Simple Assault and Summary Harassment, according to court records. <\/p>\n
Officers were called to a home on Dale Road in the Wynnewood section of Lower Merion Township just after midnight for a 911 hang-up, according to the affidavit of probable cause. <\/p>\n
When police arrived, Missanelli told officers he and his fianc\u00e9 had gotten into a \u201cscuffle\u201d during an argument and said she struck him in the chest, the affidavit states. <\/p>\n
His fianc\u00e9 told police the argument was about their engagement and alleged that Missanelli open-hand slapped her on the left side of her face, according to the complaint. <\/p>\n
An officer reported observing fresh blood on her forehead from a laceration and swelling to her ear, authorities wrote in the affidavit. <\/p>\n
Missanelli was taken into custody at the scene, police said. <\/p>\n
Court records show he was released after posting $10,000 unsecured bail, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22 at 10 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Karen Eisner Zucker. <\/p>\n
Missanelli is a longtime Philadelphia sports media personality who previously hosted on 97.5 The Fanatic before leaving the station in 2022. He began his career as a writer for The Philadelphia Inquirer and later worked at 610 WIP and 93.3 WMMR.<\/p>\n
