SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE\/WYOU) \u2014 A Scranton man is recovering after a shooting that forced neighbors to shelter for hours.<\/p>\n

Police say 38-year-old Brian Kimble Junior was shot in the arm Wednesday afternoon outside a home on Third Avenue.<\/p>\n

The shooting turned into a standoff before 64-year-old Roger Sugerman surrendered to police.<\/p>\n

Police say Kimble had been helping Sugerman clean his home when the argument started. Family tells us Kimble had been doing that for the last two to three years.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Arrest made after smoke shop robbed at gunpoint\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Police were called to the 500 block of Third Avenue just after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. They found Kimble with a gunshot wound to his arm.<\/p>\n

Before the shooting, police say Sugerman made paranoid and delusional statements, and accused Kimble of being a “double agent.” Police say Sugerman also believed Kimble wanted to hurt him.<\/p>\n

Investigators say the two argued on Sugerman’s front porch before Sugerman fired a gun and hit Kimble. Sugerman then went back inside.<\/p>\n

That brought Scranton Police and Lackawanna County SWAT to the neighborhood. After a nearly three-hour standoff, he surrendered to police.<\/p>\n

Police say Kimble’s injury is not life-threatening.<\/p>\n

Sugerman was taken into custody for a mental health evaluation. Police say charges against him include aggravated assault.<\/p>\n

The shelter order was lifted Wednesday night, and police say the scene is clear.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information is asked to call the Scranton Police Detective Bureau.<\/p>\n
