{"id":210276,"date":"2026-06-04T05:52:16","date_gmt":"2026-06-04T05:52:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/210276\/"},"modified":"2026-06-04T05:52:16","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T05:52:16","slug":"upper-darby-municipal-union-extend-current-contract-for-3-years-delco-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/210276\/","title":{"rendered":"Upper Darby, municipal union extend current contract for 3 years \u2013 Delco Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Upper Darby Township has reached an agreement on a three-year contract with its municipal workers, the township said Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.delcotimes.com\/2024\/12\/16\/upper-darby-municipal-workers-to-vote-today-on-strike\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The union had voted earlier this week to go on strike at the end of the year if a new contract wasn\u2019t reached.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Officials announced Wednesday the administration and the Transport Workers Union of America (TWU) Local 234 have successfully negotiated extending the current contract by three years, with employees now contributing more toward health benefits.<\/p>\n<p>The previous contract was set to expire Dec. 31, and will now run through 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Under the terms of the new agreement, TWU workers will receive a wage increase along with other compensatory benefits.
