UPPER DARBY, PA \u2014 After 70 years in Upper Darby, one of Delaware County’s best-known pizzerias has closed up shop as the business prepares to relocate to Broomall.<\/p>\n

In 1941, Frank Pica, Sr. opened a brick-oven pizzeria in West Philadelphia with just a few tables and a takeout counter. Fifteen years later, Pica’s Restaurant moved to a larger space in Upper Darby.<\/p>\n

The business’s last day in Upper Darby was Sunday.<\/p>\n

Now, Pica’s is relocating to Broomall. The business said on social media that they’ll announce the opening date soon.<\/p>\n

Pica’s is moving to a multi-use business complex in Broomall \u2014 at 1101 Sussex Blvd., Suite 10.<\/p>\n

In February, Pica’s announced that construction in Broomall was well-underway. So the pizzeria isn’t starting from scratch.<\/p>\n
