(WJET\/WFXP<\/a>) \u2013 The first Pride parades<\/a> took place in 1970, one year after the Stonewall Riots.<\/p>\n

Since then, Pride Month has been celebrated all across the nation with not only parades, but a variety of different events.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking to celebrate Pride in Erie this year, below is a list of local events happening throughout the month of June.<\/p>\n

Drag Bingo at King\u2019s Rook Club<\/p>\n

Looking to play a game with some fierce competition?<\/p>\n

On Thursday, June 4, King\u2019s Rook Club, located at 1921 Peach Street, is kicking off its Pride celebrations with a night of Drag Bingo!<\/p>\n

Hosted by local drag queen Shea D\u2019Heaux, the event will provide \u201ca fabulous night of entertainment and prizes, of course!\u201d<\/p>\n

Doors open at 8 p.m., and bingo begins at 9:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Members of the King\u2019s Rook Club can attend the event for free, while non-members can attend for a $5 entry fee. Please note that the King\u2019s Rook Club is a 21+ venue.<\/p>\n

\"\"Pride in the Collection<\/p>\n

From Andy Warhol<\/a> to Frida Kahlo<\/a>, LGBTQ+ artists have and continue to reshape pop culture.<\/p>\n

Now, the Erie Art Museum, located at 20 East 5th Street, is hosting its first-ever reception to celebrate these LGBTQ+ artists.<\/p>\n

Pride in the Collection takes place on Saturday, June 6, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

Those in attendance can enjoy live music, cocktails and snacks as they view pieces created by LGBTQ+ artists and local college students.<\/p>\n

\"\"1020 Collective & Compton\u2019s Table Open Mic Night<\/p>\n

This Pride event is giving residents a place to express themselves.<\/p>\n

Compton\u2019s Table<\/a>, a local LGBTQ+ organization, has partnered with the 1020 Collective to host a Pride Open Mic Night.<\/p>\n

The event, hosted by Shea D\u2019Heaux and Todd Paropacic, encourages everyone to stand up and share something.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether you\u2019re sharing a poem, a song, a story, or simply coming to support others, all are welcome,\u201d 1020 Collective\u2019s website states.<\/p>\n

Pride Open Mic Night will take place on Thursday, June 11, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the 1020 Collective, located at 1020 Holland Street. Entry costs $10.<\/p>\n

\"\"Reel Rituals Presents: The Old Dark House<\/p>\n

Before the days of rainbow flags, LGBTQ+ filmmakers were showing their pride in black and white.<\/p>\n

Reel Rituals, composed of hosts Madman Mook and The Pentacle Pinup, partnered with the 1020 Collective to host a screening of the 1932 horror film The Old Dark House on Friday, June 12.<\/p>\n

The Old Dark House was directed by James Whale, an openly gay director<\/a> best known for Bride of Frankenstein\u00a0(1935) and The Invisible Man\u00a0(1933).<\/p>\n

Doors to the event open at 5:30 p.m., an informative pre-movie presentation will begin at 7 p.m. and the film will begin at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n

The 1020 Collective is located at 1020 Holland Street. Tickets to the event cost $10.<\/p>\n

\"\"Erie Pride Parade 2026<\/p>\n

One of the biggest staples of Pride Month is, of course, the parades.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, June 14, NWPA Pride Alliance will host its annual Pride Parade!<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year, our theme is\u00a0Make Waves. We are marching to be seen, heard, and celebrated,\u201d the NWPA Pride Alliance website states.<\/p>\n

Line-up will take place at 11th and State Street beginning at 12 p.m., and step off begins at 1 p.m. sharp.<\/p>\n

Following the parade, those in attendance are encouraged to hang out and enjoy festivities in Perry Square.<\/p>\n

\"\"Pride on the Bay 2026<\/p>\n

Looking to enjoy the views of Lake Erie this Pride Month? Then this event is for you!<\/p>\n

Pride on the Bay takes place on Saturday, June 27, from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Liberty Park.<\/p>\n

The event will feature local food trucks, drag performances and community resources, as well as showing local artists and vendors.<\/p>\n

Headlining the performances is Erie-native and RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race All Stars winner Alaska.<\/p>\n

Admission to the event is free, and all are welcome to attend.<\/p>\n

\"\"Erie Pride After Party<\/p>\n

Looking to keep the party going after Pride at the Bay ends? One local bar has you covered.<\/p>\n

The Zone, Erie\u2019s \u201conly Queer Dance Club,\u201d will host a Pride After Party beginning at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n

The 21+ event will feature a free buffet and no cover charge until 8 p.m.<\/p>\n
