With the NBA draft right around the corner, now is the time to look at some past drafts and see what the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> have done in their history. The Sixers have selected some big-time players in the past who have become an important part of the fabric of the franchise’s history.<\/p>\n

This edition continues to focus on 2013 as the Sixers continued to move forward into the first year of the rebuild. After trading away All-Star Jrue Holiday<\/a> to the New Orleans Pelicans<\/a> on draft night in a deal for the No. 6 pick and bringing in Nerlens Noel<\/a> and Michael Carter-Williams<\/a>, the Sixers added another rookie shortly before the 2013-14 season: Hollis Thompson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Thompson went undrafted out of Georgetown and signed with Philadelphia<\/a> in September of 2013. He averaged 6.0 points and 3.2 rebounds while shooting 40.1% from deep as a rookie. Overall, he spent 3.5 seasons in Philadelphia and averaged 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds during that time before he was waived in 2017.<\/p>\n

After being waived, Thompson signed a 10-day deal with the Pelicans and averaged 3.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in nine games with eight starts. Those games in New Orleans<\/a> were the final ones of his career.<\/p>\n
