PITTSBURGH \u2014 The family of Lena Davenport says learning her official cause of death left them stunned.<\/p>\n
Nearly two weeks after her memorial service, her family is calling for accountability from Allegheny County officials.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo one contacted the family, no one called to apologize, no one called to just say, \u2018Hey, how are you guys doing?\u2019 Nothing,\u201d a family member said.<\/p>\n
The family\u2019s caretaker said Davenport was home watching television in bed when she suddenly stopped breathing.\u00a0She was rushed to the hospital, where she died.\u00a0<\/p>\n
According to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner, the cause of death is \u201csystemic complications of a gunshot wound to the head.\u201d<\/p>\n

She was fighting, she was fighting hard,\u201d a family member said.<\/p>\n In January 2013, five off-duty Pittsburgh police officers fired into a car during a chase on East Carson Street.<\/p>\n RELATED COVERAGE >>> Only Channel 11 obtains video of end to wild chase on South Side<\/a><\/p>\n Family members say Davenport was struck in the eye.<\/p>\n \u201cSomeone has to be held accountable,\u201d her god-daughter told Channel 11. \u201cSomething has to be done, and we\u2019re not going to let this go.\u201d<\/p>\n A spokesperson for the Allegheny County District Attorney\u2019s Office said in a statement:<\/p>\n \u201cWe are in the process of reviewing the records. It\u2019s a serious matter, and these types of reviews take some time. Unfortunately, I cannot provide a timeline for a determination.\u201d<\/p>\n Davenport\u2019s family says they cannot move forward until someone is held responsible, and they plan to continue pursuing justice.<\/p>\n \u201cI am not going to be able to just say, \u2018Okay, that\u2019s just it.\u2019 No, it\u2019s a homicide.
