A Clarks Summit man was arrested Thursday evening after leading Wyoming Area Regional Police on a chase through the Midway Shopping Center, placing at least two pedestrians in danger, according to court documents.<\/p>\n
Michael Robert Naegele, 20, of 1610 Forest Acres Drive, is accused of leading the chase that began shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday.<\/p>\n
According to the complaint, Wyoming Area Regional Police tried to pull Naegele over after spotting his red Saturn sedan nearly hitting another vehicle in the 800 block of Wyoming Avenue in Wyoming Borough.<\/p>\n
Naegele proceeded to lead officers on a chase through the shopping center\u2019s parking lot, speeding past Nova Trampoline Park and Price Chopper while narrowly missing parked cars, police said.<\/p>\n
Naegele placed two pedestrians in danger by speeding past them as he went around the back of the shopping center, kicking up dust as he fled, police said.<\/p>\n
Eventually Naegele reached a dead end near the Sandlot Baseball Academy and got out running, according to the complaint.\u00a0Officers eventually caught Naegele after a foot chase and arrested him at gunpoint.<\/p>\n
Police charged Naegele with fleeing officers, evading arrest on foot, reckless endangerment, driving in the wrong direction, speeding, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, careless driving and failing to yield to pedestrians.<\/p>\n
Magisterial District Judge Joseph D. Spagnuolo Jr. arraigned Naegele on the charges Friday morning and set bail at $75,000.<\/p>\n
