{"id":212073,"date":"2026-06-06T00:58:11","date_gmt":"2026-06-06T00:58:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/212073\/"},"modified":"2026-06-06T00:58:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-06T00:58:11","slug":"5-pittsburgh-bureau-of-fire-members-celebrate-promotions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/212073\/","title":{"rendered":"5 Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire members celebrate promotions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire is celebrating some promotions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">A promotions ceremony was held in council chambers on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Officials said five members of the bureau are taking the next step in their careers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Cash Cortazzo and William Russell were promoted to lieutenant. Lieutenants Stephen Williams and Joshua Colbert became captains. Captain Kenneth Walz was promoted to the rank of battalion chief. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Mayor Corey O\u2019Connor, Assistant Fire Chief Mat Davis and Public Safety Director Sheldon Williams spoke at the ceremony.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">O\u2019Connor said the groups represent some of the best of the department.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cYou are going to see people on some of their most vulnerable days.
