A New York man is in custody and others are still on the loose after a police chase through the Midvalley on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Tyler Graham, 20, of Port Jefferson, faces charges of evading officers and fleeing police.<\/p>\n
Police are searching for at least four other men, who fled and were not caught by police.<\/p>\n
According to the criminal complaint, at about 4 a.m., Olyphant Police Officer Dennis Sekelsky Jr. was on patrol, speaking with Archbald Officer Mark Waters via phone.<\/p>\n
Waters indicated he was on Main Street in Peckville and saw two vehicles he believed may have fled from the Blakely Police Department earlier. One of the vehicles had been reported stolen.<\/p>\n
Waters spotted the vehicles traveling east on Lackawanna Avenue into Olyphant.<\/p>\n
Sekelsky then saw the vehicles in the 400 block of Lackawanna Avenue speeding south onto South Valley Avenue.<\/p>\n
The vehicles turned onto Ridge Street and then onto Martarano Drive, where they came to a dead end and were forced to stop.<\/p>\n
One of the vehicles, a red Jeep, turned around and came toward the police vehicle. The other vehicle, a black Jeep, turned and jumped a curb.<\/p>\n
When Sekelsky got to the vehicles, he saw both front doors were open and the vehicles unoccupied.<\/p>\n
He heard movement in the woods nearby.<\/p>\n
Law enforcement officers set up a perimeter and a K-9 officer was brought to the scene.<\/p>\n
K-9 King located Graham and he was arrested. He admitted to being a passenger in the vehicle, but said he did not know the name of the driver.<\/p>\n
Officers continued their search for at least four other individuals involved in the case, according to Olyphant Police Chief James DeVoe.<\/p>\n
The individuals are believed to be from New York, he said.<\/p>\n
Graham remains in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $7,500 bail.<\/p>\n
