Scranton police are investigating a Wednesday afternoon shooting on the city’s West Side that left a 20-year-old man injured. Officers rushed to the scene following reports of gunfire in the 300 to 400 block of 3rd Avenue, where an altercation between neighbors had escalated into violence.<\/p>\n
Scranton Police Chief Thomas Carroll confirmed that Roger Sugerman allegedly drew a handgun during the dispute and shot his neighbor. Sugerman was quickly taken into custody by responding officers without further incident. The young victim was transported to a local hospital, where officials report he is currently in stable condition with a non-life-threatening injury.
