Allentown Police responded to the intersection of North Jay Street and East North Street at approximately 10:01 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, for reports of a shooting, according to a media release issued Sunday.<\/p>\n
When officers arrived, they found three victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Allentown Police and Allentown EMS rendered aid before all three victims were transported to area hospitals, police said.<\/p>\n
One of the victims later died from their injuries, according to police. The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as a 17-year-old Allentown boy and ruled his death a homicide. He was pronounced dead at 11:31 p.m. in the Emergency Department at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg after suffering gunshot injuries.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The teen has been positively identified, but his name is not being released at this time to allow his family privacy, according to the coroner.\u00a0<\/p>\n
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, June 8, the coroner said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The investigation is being conducted by the Allentown Police Department, the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, and the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.\u00a0<\/p>\n
