PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) \u2014 One person was killed and four others, including a first responder, were injured in a massive house fire along Roosevelt Boulevard in Olney overnight.<\/p>\n
The fire broke out around 11:30 p.m. Sunday and was placed under control about three hours later.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately, on this particular fire, we did find one deceased after the fire was extinguished, and our members started to go through the dwelling and start to do their investigation,\u201d said First Deputy Fire Commissioner Carl Randolph.<\/p>\n
The man who died has not yet been identified. He was found in the right home of the twin structure. The left side houses apartments. <\/p>\n
The property where the fire started \u2014 on the southbound side of Roosevelt Boulevard, near Front Street \u2014 is now being demolished. <\/p>\n
Firefighters helped rescue some of the residents. In all, 12 were displaced. They are receiving assistance from the Red Cross and Salvation Army.<\/p>\n
Four other people \u2014 three residents and an EMT \u2014 were taken to the hospital in stable condition. <\/p>\n
Roosevelt Boulevard was closed between Rising Sun Avenue and Fourth Street Sunday night into early Monday morning. Only the outer lanes on the southbound side remained closed as of 7 a.m.<\/p>\n
