(WJET\/WFXP)\u2013 The Erie man charged after allegedly cutting a police officer with a knife appeared for his preliminary hearing on Monday.<\/p>\n

According to court records, 31-year-old Nabitu Musabika appeared before Judge Edward Wilson on charges of aggravated assault, evading arrest and related misdemeanors for allegedly cutting a City of Erie police officer during an incident on May 19.<\/p>\n

Court records show all six charges were waived to court, with Musabika still being held in the Erie County Prison on $150,000 bond.<\/p>\n

Musabika was arrested the morning of May 19 after Erie police said they received reports of a man with a knife saying he may harm himself.<\/p>\n

According to documents, when the officer arrived on the scene, Musabika began running away and a scuffle ensued when officers caught up to him.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Former Warren Co. detective pleads guilty to misdemeanor charges\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Once police got him on the ground, they said Musabika refused to comply and cut the officer on the wrist with a knife.<\/p>\n

His case now heads to the Court of Common Pleas.<\/p>\n
