{"id":214357,"date":"2026-06-09T07:45:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-09T07:45:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/214357\/"},"modified":"2026-06-09T07:45:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-09T07:45:18","slug":"1776-the-musical-live-on-house-floor-in-pennsylvania-harrisburg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/214357\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201c1776: The Musical\u201d Live on House Floor in Pennsylvania | Harrisburg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Written by Natalie Javitt, Pennsylvania Legislative Correspondents\u2019 Association Summer Intern<\/p>\n<p>HARRISBURG\u2013 Student actors brought history to life at the state capitol today.<\/p>\n<p>Five students performed a scene and song from \u201c1776: The Musical\u201d in the house chamber.<\/p>\n<p>The actors depicted historical figures like Benjamin Franklin and John Adams and received a standing ovation from lawmakers.<\/p>\n<p>The performance kicked off the celebration of America 250 for representatives.<\/p>\n<p>The show was part of \u201cCelebrating 1776!\u201d, a program that explores American history through performing arts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo see young people 250 years later telling that story with a multicultural cast, a multi-ethnic cast is really powerful.
