A Philadelphia man is in custody after repeatedly threatened his ex-girlfriend, Upper Darby police say.<\/p>\n
James Angelo Avitalle, 19, was arrested by police Friday and charged with firearm violations, attempting to elude officers, recklessly endangering another person, receiving stolen property and traffic violations.<\/p>\n
Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt said officers were called the day before for a domestic incident. A male had threatened his ex-girlfriend but fled before police arrived. A warrant was issued for the man\u2019s arrest. Later in the day he returned to the residence and again fled before police arrived.<\/p>\n
Police spotted him, and he was arrested after a brief pursuit. He was found in possession of a firearm, which resulted in the weapons charges.<\/p>\n
Avitalle was arraigned before District Justice Benjamin Johns and was committed to Delaware County prison in lieu of $500,000 bail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 26 in front of Magisterial District Judge Christopher R.
