{"id":215065,"date":"2026-06-09T23:32:23","date_gmt":"2026-06-09T23:32:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/215065\/"},"modified":"2026-06-09T23:32:23","modified_gmt":"2026-06-09T23:32:23","slug":"8-charged-after-murder-suspect-killed-in-allegheny-county-jail-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/215065\/","title":{"rendered":"8 charged after murder suspect killed in Allegheny County Jail attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eight men are charged after a man incarcerated in the Allegheny County Jail on a homicide charge was killed in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/allegheny-county-jail-inmate-killed-attack\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-absolute=\"true\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">attack<\/a> inside his cell.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Allegheny County Police Department said in a news release on Tuesday that the eight incarcerated men are charged in connection with the death of 44-year-old\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PghPublicSafety\/posts\/update-violent-crime-division-detectives-arrested-tyrone-good-44-in-connection-w\/1280989627398410\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-absolute=\"true\">Tyrone Good<\/a>. The news release said 24-year-old Kendall McKoy, 25-year-old Justin Allen, 20-year-old Delvonte Woodson, 18-year-old Jerrell Rockymore, 27-year-old Mark Beavers, 20-year-old Tavarius Lee, 23-year-old Shawn Davis and 24-year-old Anthony Schmitt are facing multiple charges in connection with the deadly attack on May 13.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>County police said surveillance video from around 1 p.m. on May 13  showed that eight incarcerated men walked into Good&#8217;s cell and closed the door behind them before attacking Good for more than six minutes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Police did not provide any additional details about the attack in Tuesday&#8217;s news release. Good was stabbed to death, KDKA learned. Last month, a corrections officer was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/corrections-officer-suspended-allegheny-county-jail-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-absolute=\"true\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">suspended<\/a>\u00a0in relation to the attack.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Good was charged with homicide in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/pittsburgh-police-suspicious-death-perry-north\/\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">death<\/a>\u00a0of his girlfriend, 44-year-old Michelle Sturdivant, after she was found dead in December 2025  in Pittsburgh&#8217;s Perry North neighborhood.
