YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)\u2013 The Pennsylvania House of Representatives welcomed its newest member on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
According to the Speaker of the House, Joanna McClinton’s Office, State Rep. George Margetas (R-York) had his oath of office administered by Dauphin County Common Pleas Judge La Tasha C. Williams on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Rep. Margetas was voted into office in a special election on Tuesday, May 19, for the 196th district of Pennsylvania<\/a>, which includes Dover, Heidelberg, Jackson, North Codorus, Paradise, and West Manchester townships and Dover, New Salem, Seven Valleys, and Spring Grove boroughs.<\/p>\n “Swearing in a new member is always a special occasion in the state House of Representatives,” said Speaker Joanna McClinton (D-Phila.\/Delaware). “As a longtime public servant Representative Margetas brings with him a wealth of experience that will allow him to hit the ground running in serving his neighbors in his new role.”<\/p>\n Margetas kicks off his term as the General Assembly is meeting for back-to-back weeks of session.<\/p>\n The May 19 race filled the remaining months of former State Rep.
