Community members are invited to kick off their Independence Day festivities early during the Freedom Celebration at Shades Beach Park on July 1.<\/p>\n
The family-friendly event will run from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public as part of Erie County’s America 250PA celebrations.<\/p>\n
The evening is designed with family fun and community spirit in mind, featuring free activities, entertainment, and opportunities to celebrate the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.<\/p>\n
Guests can enjoy ice cream, games, crafts, prizes, face painting, and balloon art throughout the event. Attendees are encouraged to wear patriotic colors and bring a chair or blanket for the evening’s entertainment.<\/p>\n
Music will begin with DJ Brian Shank from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a performance from the Gem City Concert Band from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
The celebration will also feature a dunk tank where attendees can take their shot at dunking community members. Donations collected at the attraction will benefit HCCET.<\/p>\n
Food vendors scheduled to attend include Brady’s Chuckwagon, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Little Bird Soda.<\/p>\n
The event is sponsored by Harborcreek Township, Discover Harborcreek, the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority (ECGRA), VisitErie, and The Straw Hat Sundae Shop.<\/p>\n
Organizers encourage residents of all ages to attend and enjoy an evening of community celebration ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.<\/p>\n
