This follows the June 4 <a href=\"https:\/\/spectrumlocalnews.com\/nys\/buffalo\/news\/2026\/06\/05\/erie-county-reports-first-confirmed-case-of-measles-since-2018\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announcement<\/a> of a measles case, the first in Erie County since 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The resident did not report any travel outside of Erie County.<\/p>\n<p>This individual was at Golisano Children&#8217;s Hospital twice and at a health center at 1021 Broadway in Buffalo on June 4.<\/p>\n<p>Officials say that if you were at either place on those two days, you could have been exposed to the measles.<\/p>\n<p>ECDOH says that they are working with the locations to identify potentially exposed people, notify them of their exposure and help them determine their vaccination status and level of risk.<\/p>\n<p>The measles virus lives in the air and on surfaces for up to two hours. Basic symptoms include a fever, cough and watery eyes.<\/p>\n<p>If you have two doses of the MMR vaccine, have previously had measles, or were born before 1957, you are immune to the disease.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Erie County has confirmed a second case of measles, the Department of Health has announced.
