Epenesa, who spent the last six seasons with the Buffalo Bills.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Epenesa agreed to a deal with the Cleveland Browns in March worth up to $5 million, but the team opted out of finalizing the contract after the 27-year-old&#8217;s physical, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/49022394\/eagles-sign-aj-epenesa-months-browns-balked-deal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">according to ESPN<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Epenesa was a second-round pick by the Bills in the 2020 NFL draft out of the University of Iowa.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Epenesa has played in 91 total games in his career, including 19 starts. He&#8217;s recorded 135 total tackles, 24 sacks, and 53 quarterback hits.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the 2025 season, Epenesa had 32 total tackles and 2.5 sacks in 16 games. He&#8217;s played in 17 playoff games over six seasons.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Epenesa adds even more depth to Philadelphia&#8217;s edge rusher group, which includes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/philadelphia\/news\/eagles-jonathan-greenard-trade-vikings\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jonathan Greenard<\/a>, Jaylx Hunt, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/philadelphia\/news\/nolan-smith-arrested-eagles\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Nolan Smith Jr.<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/philadelphia\/news\/arnold-ebiketie-eagles-nfl-free-agency\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Arnold Ebiketie<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Eagles\/status\/2064819819745038689\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Birds also signed<\/a> guard Michael Jordan and waived linebackers Chandler Martin and Isiah King Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\n          More from CBS News\n        <\/p>\n<p class=\"content__tags__label\">In:<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Philadelphia Eagles added some depth to their defensive line Wednesday by signing A.J.
