EASTON, Pa. — It is graduation season and as one class closes the chapter on their high school career, another one begins.<\/p>\n
For a group of Easton High School alumni, this year they are marking a major milestone. They were the 100th class to graduate from the school, 70 years ago this week.<\/p>\n
For 70 years, the class of 1956 has kept tabs on one another.<\/p>\n
“We had 320 something class members,” said Leonard Buscemi. “We know where every single person in our class is.”<\/p>\n
Through newsletters, meetings and reunions like this one, the Easton High School class of 1956 does more than keep in touch. They share quite the connection.<\/p>\n
“Our class is all about it. Camaraderie. There’ll be a lot of memories shared today. Or do you remember when?” said Buscemi.<\/p>\n
The class also shares a story.<\/p>\n
“Our song, which I’ll be singing later today, is Moments to Remember. So that kind of goes along with this group, Moments to Remember, because we do remember,” said Bill Shoudt.<\/p>\n
A lot of their memories are intertwined.<\/p>\n
“My best friend Woody, he passed away a couple years ago and he was the treasurer before me. Him and I were the best of friends,” said Shoudt.<\/p>\n
“Wonderful football games and the band majorettes and cheerleaders. It was the wonderful school spirit,” said Janet Chrin Corriere.<\/p>\n
The class of 1956 leaves each year’s graduating class with two $1,000 scholarships and now a message for this year’s graduates.<\/p>\n
“To the new class, the class of 2026. We were the class of 1956.
