{"id":216687,"date":"2026-06-11T18:35:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T18:35:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/216687\/"},"modified":"2026-06-11T18:35:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T18:35:09","slug":"popular-mexican-food-chain-closing-bensalem-restaurant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/216687\/","title":{"rendered":"Popular Mexican Food Chain Closing Bensalem Restaurant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>      On the Border has announced that all of its 150 locations, including the last one in Pennsylvania, will close for good on Friday.    <\/p>\n<p>\n      Jun 11, 2026 2:00 pm EDT | Updated Jun 11, 2026 2:12 pm EDT    <\/p>\n<p>BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA \u2014 On the Border Mexican Grill &amp; Cantina is closing all of its locations across the country, including its last remaining restaurant in Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p>The Tex-Mex casual dining chain has been a staple throughout Pennsylvania and the United States for decades, but had fallen on hard times.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-subscribe\"><a href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/pennsylvania\/bensalem\/subscribe?utm_source=amp&amp;utm_campaign=subscribe&amp;utm_medium=mobile&amp;utm_term=subscribe_in_article\" class=\"article-subscribe-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Subscribe<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The last one in the state operated for years just in front of the Neshaminy Mall off Route 1 in Bensalem Township.<\/p>\n<p>Its parent company, Pappas Restaurants, announced the closures of its remaining locations. The closures mark an end to a 44-year history for the Mexican chain.<\/p>\n<p>On the Border once operated over 150 U.S. locations and several in South Korea.
