Courtesy of Gannon University<\/a><\/p>\n Gannon University welcomes Trysha Hopkins, DNP, CRNP, FNP-C, as the new director of the Villa Maria School of Nursing.<\/p>\n Hopkins arrival brings 15 years of experience in nursing practice, advanced cardiovascular care, and program leadership to Gannon\u2019s nursing program.<\/p>\n Hopkins previously served as the University\u2019s interim director for the school of nursing where she contributed to program leadership, curriculum design and course delivery. She will now be stepping into the role more permanently as the school appoints her to full-time director.<\/p>\n Hopkins earned her Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Gannon University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Slippery Rock University and an Associate of Science in Nursing from Mercyhurst University.<\/p>\n Beyond her experience working with Gannon University, Hopkins also works as a nurse practitioner at the UPMC Hear and Vascular Institute.<\/p>\n Hopkins served as an adjunct professor at Gannon University before taking on the role of director. With this experience she has seen first-hand the work that the students are capable of, and as said by Kim Cavanagh, DHSc, PA-C, dean of the Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are excited to welcome Dr. Hopkins into this important leadership role within the Villa Maria School of Nursing, her combination of clinical expertise, leadership experience and true commitment to nursing education will be instrumental as we continue the Villa Maria School of Nursing\u2019s longstanding history of high-quality nursing programs which prepare future nursing professionals to meet the evolving needs of health care.\u201d<\/p>\n Hopkins continuous service at UPMC reflects the experience and commitment she will bring to the learning experience of Gannon\u2019s soon to be nurses.<\/p>\n To learn more about Gannon\u2019s Nursing Program check out there page here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
