(WBRE\/WYOU) \u2014 We are on Weather Alert due to the potential for a few strong and severe storms this afternoon and early evening.<\/p>\n
Before periods of storms roll through, expect near record-breaking heat with high temperatures into the upper 80s and lower 90s. Heat indices of 90 to 100 are expected today with some muggy air.<\/p>\n
Most of the time today it will be dry, but the weather can turn unsettled at times. Showers and storms are expected to develop around lunchtime, but the best chance of severe impacts will be between 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. The highest risk of stronger and severe storms will be into eastern Pennsylvania today. Flash flooding can be a risk once again with these brief heavy rains. Gusty winds will be another threat to watch, which can lead to areas of power outages. Be mindful to any watches and warnings and take heed to any delays possible due to the weather. These storms will be mainly over by sunset.<\/p>\n
Saturday will be mostly sunny and quiet but the potential for more strong storms returns later Sunday.<\/p>\n
