{"id":218001,"date":"2026-06-13T02:16:11","date_gmt":"2026-06-13T02:16:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/218001\/"},"modified":"2026-06-13T02:16:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-13T02:16:11","slug":"5-injured-in-head-on-crash-on-route-183-in-berks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/218001\/","title":{"rendered":"5 injured in head\u2011on crash on Route 183 in Berks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Five people were injured, several seriously, in a head-on crash Wednesday afternoon on Route 183 north of Plum Creek Road in Penn Township, state police said.<\/p>\n<p>According to troopers from the Reading station:<\/p>\n<p>Jamsly Charles, 35, of Reading, crossed the center line while driving southbound on Bernville Road, which is Route 183, close to Old State Road shortly after 4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>His compact car collided with a northbound sedan driven by Arianna Wertz, 22, of Bernville.<\/p>\n<p>Charles suffered suspected minor injuries, while his two passengers, Yerson Rodriguez, 27, of Reading and Islande Attelus, 33, no address given, were both seriously injured.<\/p>\n<p>Wertz and her passenger, Ricardo Guzman, 43, of Reading, were both seriously injured.<\/p>\n<p>All of the patients were taken by ambulances to Reading Hospital.
