The Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> have signed former Minnesota Vikings<\/a> wide receiver Joaquin Davis, the team announced on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Davis was part of a few bigger moves the team made. They released wide receiver Brandon Johnson<\/a> on Tuesday, and he was immediately scooped up by the Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> the next day.<\/p>\n

Davis, 23, is a second-year player out of North Carolina Central. He was with the Vikings last year, but failed to make their roster. Now, after being a free agent, he re-joins former Vikings tight ends coach and passing game coordinator Brian Angelichio, who is now the offensive coordinator with the Steelers.<\/p>\n

It is just a one-year contract. Davis brings plenty of size to the wide receiver at 6-foot-4, 195 pounds. An undrafted free agent in the 2025 NFL Draft, Davis still had some of the better measurables in that entire class.<\/p>\n

He ran a 4.36 40-yard dash with a 10-foot-4-inch broad jump and 42-inch vertical jump. All of those marks are fantastic, especially for someone with Davis\u2019 size.<\/p>\n

However, he did not have a prolific career in college, either, posting 489 yards and 11 touchdowns in his final season of college in 2024.<\/p>\n

Now, he will hope to turn his athletic gifts and prowess into a long-term spot with the Steelers, who could use some of his size and athleticism.<\/p>\n
