BENSALEM, Pa. (WPVI) — It’s back ot school season, and at Bensalem High School, teachers and staff members report to the building this week to get ready for the first day on Monday.<\/p>\n
“It’s New Years for us. It really is,” remarked Superintendent Dr. Sam Lee.<\/p>\n
“Kids are so excited to be here. Teachers are going to be excited to get back. It’s fall sports, it’s Eagles season. It’s a great time of year,” said principal Geoff Per.<\/p>\n
The Bensalem marching band has been practicing.<\/p>\n
“We’ve been in for two weeks for band camp, learning the drill and getting the show ready,” said band director Dr. Mike Zimmerman.<\/p>\n
“I love back to school season because that means football games. You’re excited to be back, you’re excited about your classes. You’re excited about your friends,” explained drum major Yasmin Chakrane.<\/p>\n
The first days of school can mean jitters, but the Owl Ambassadors are ready to help new students.<\/p>\n
“We help them get in, and we show them what we’re all about and what it is to be an Owl,” explained ambassador Anna Marks.<\/p>\n
“We do a scavenger hunt with our freshman class on the first day of school. They’re getting a tour and they don’t even realize,” said Owl Ambassador advisor Ron Morris. Preseason is already underway for fall athletes, who can’t wait to dive into the season and their school year.<\/p>\n
“We’ve been in the gym all summer. We have a new coach this year,” said volleyball senior Erin Blank.<\/p>\n
“We’ve been playing hard, training a lot. A lot of two mile runs,” said soccer player Victor Kowalski.<\/p>\n
“We are really excited to play in the season, we hope to have a really good season,” said 10th grade soccer player Ryan Thomas.<\/p>\n
Asked what she is looking forward to, senior volleyball player Bella Schneider said, “Playing volleyball, being with my friends, just being back in school.”<\/p>\n
Greeshma Annagowni is gearing up for Mock Trial.<\/p>\n
“Last year and the year before, we got first place at UPenn and top ten at Yale so I’m super excited to see how the club is going to go this year,” explained Annagowni.<\/p>\n
“We’ve been practicing twice a week since July,” said , Jordyn, and Emily, from the Cheer Team.<\/p>\n
The energy is high, and it will carry through the school year.<\/p>\n
