The 22nd SouthSide Film Festival (SSFF) screened films from the Lehigh Valley and around the world, June 10 through June 13, Cathedral Church of the Nativity, PBS39, SteelStacks Banko Ale House Cinemas and Touchstone Theatre, all on Bethlehem\u2019s southside.<\/p>\n
The opening night SSFF party was 6 p.m. June 10, Comfort Suites, also on the southside.<\/p>\n
\u201cFork in the Road\u201d and the short films, \u201cForever Green\u201d and \u201cSunday Mornings at the Beach,\u201d screened at 8 p.m. June 10, Sayre Room, Cathedral Church.<\/p>\n
Screenings began at 5:20 p.m. June 11, 12 and 1:20 p.m. June 13.<\/p>\n
The format is mostly blocks of films by genre, including animation, comedy, drama, documentary, and LGBTQ.<\/p>\n
Filmmakers were to attend some of the Q&A sessions.<\/p>\n
A late-night screening of \u201cintriguing and out-of-the-ordinary collection of comedy, horror and animated short films\u201d was 11:20 p.m. June 12, Banko Ale House Cinemas.<\/p>\n
The closing-night screening was \u201cIf These Walls Could Rock,\u201d 7:20 p.m. June 13, Cathedral Church.<\/p>\n
The closing-night party was 9 p.m. June 13, Upstairs at the Goose.<\/p>\n

\u201cDefining Moments: The Life & Leadership of Quiet Revolutionary Frances Hesselbein\u201d (45 mins.). The documentary film is about the first national CEO of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.<\/p>\n
\u201cFighting More Than Fire\u201d (85 mins.). The documentary film is about the history of Black firefighters in Tulsa, Okla.<\/p>\n
\u201cFork in the Road\u201d (88 mins.). The documentary, narrated by Nick Offerman, an executive producer of the film, is about farmers, chefs and innovators working to improve the food system.<\/p>\n
\u201cHollywood\u2019s Mermaid: The Esther WIlliams Story\u201d (21 mins.). The documentary film is about the swimming champion and Hollywood movie star.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf These Walls Could Rock\u201d (90 mins.) The documentary film is about the Sunset Marquis, a West Hollywood hotel. Interviewees include Ringo Starr, Slash, Cyndi Lauper, Morrissey and Dave Grohl.<\/p>\n
\u201cIl Mio Posto a Tavola\u201d (\u201cMy Place at the Table\u201d) (56 mins.). A documentary film about the emotional complexities of adoption.<\/p>\n
\u201cYour Attention Please\u201d (98 mins.) A documentary film about a high school that goes phone-free.<\/p>\n
