{"id":218933,"date":"2026-06-14T12:14:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-14T12:14:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/218933\/"},"modified":"2026-06-14T12:14:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-14T12:14:09","slug":"teen-dead-after-being-shot-in-chest-in-downtown-pittsburgh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/218933\/","title":{"rendered":"Teen dead after being shot in chest in Downtown Pittsburgh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 A teen is dead after being shot in the chest in Downtown Pittsburgh overnight. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">A Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesperson says officers responded to Penn Avenue at 7th Street around 12:15 a.m. for the reported shooting. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Officers arrived on scene to find an unconscious 17-year-old boy on the sidewalk, shot in the chest. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Medics rushed him to an area hospital in critical condition, but he died shortly after arrival. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The spokesperson says an individual was detained for questioning, but no one has been arrested at this time. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Detectives have since responded to the area to process evidence and review all available camera footage.
