{"id":220607,"date":"2026-06-16T17:58:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T17:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/220607\/"},"modified":"2026-06-16T17:58:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T17:58:09","slug":"construction-worker-falls-while-working-on-bridge-along-i-279-in-ross-township-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/220607\/","title":{"rendered":"Construction worker falls while working on bridge along I-279 in Ross Township \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. \u2014 A construction worker was rescued early Tuesday morning after falling while working on a bridge along I-279 in Ross Township.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Our photographer captured video of that worker being rescued from the hillside by the Jacks Run Road bridge around 1 a.m. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Brent Wasko, spokesperson for the Allegheny County Department of Public Works, said the male employee of their contractor, Swank Construction Company, fell from underdeck shielding that he was installing on the north side of the bridge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The man was brought down by a bucket on a fire truck and taken to a hospital.
