Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker announced the recipients of the first $2 million in anti-violence grants for 2026.<\/p>\n

The announcement \u2013 which is part of Gun Violence Awareness Month \u2013 took place on Tuesday, June 16, at 10 a.m. at City Hall. <\/p>\n

Mayor Parker and Philadelphia\u2019s Office of Public Safety discussed the 47 recipients of the Targeted Community Investment Grants.<\/a> The grants support Philadelphia neighborhoods that are harmed by gun violence and aim to increase public safety while building a stronger sense of community.<\/p>\n

As of June 15, there were 67 reported homicides in Philadelphia in 2026, down 33% from the same time last year which ultimately saw the lowest number of homicides in the city in decades, according to police data.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker announced the recipients of the first $2 million in anti-violence grants for 2026.
