Officials are reminding motorcyclists and drivers alike – to stay alert during the busy summer riding season.<\/p>\n
Last year, there were nearly 3,000 motorcycle crashes in Pennsylvania, with 186 of those being fatal.<\/p>\n
Officials say, in 96% of fatal motorcycle crashes, the motorcycle is the striking vehicle.<\/p>\n
Inexperience is one of the biggest issues among riders, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
They encourage everyone to take the Pennsylvania Motorcycle Safety Program classes.<\/p>\n
They’re free to Pennsylvania class-M permit and motorcycle license holders.<\/p>\n
“I think inexperience – there are other factors that play in there – weather, road conditions… all that type of stuff. But you gotta know your limits. I think that’s one of the mains concerns. Know your limits. Know your riding ability,” says<\/p>\n
