{"id":220990,"date":"2026-06-17T02:29:16","date_gmt":"2026-06-17T02:29:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/220990\/"},"modified":"2026-06-17T02:29:16","modified_gmt":"2026-06-17T02:29:16","slug":"wilkes-barre-man-indicted-on-firearm-offense","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/220990\/","title":{"rendered":"Wilkes-Barre man indicted on firearm offense"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>SCRANTON \u2014 A Wilkes-Barre man arrested by Wilkes-Barre City police, who investigated a shooting in March, was indicted by a federal grand jury on a firearm offense.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph Angelo Valderrama, 38, of South Welles Street, was indicted on a single count of a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, according to U.S. Attorney Brian D. Miller.<\/p>\n<p>The indictment alleges Valderrama possessed an AR-15 style pistol and rounds of ammunition, knowing he had previously been convicted of a felony offense that prohibited him from possessing a firearm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesleader.com\/news\/1736477\/detectives-search-mans-apartment-while-he-was-in-court\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">City police detectives searched<\/a> Valderrama\u2019s apartment while Valderrama was at the Luzerne County Courthouse on March 22.
