Hold on to your witch hats, it\u2019s going to be a windy Halloween in the Lehigh Valley.<\/p>\n
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the region from 10 a.m. through midnight Friday. Winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph, are expected, according to the weather service.<\/p>\n
The advisory is in effect across all of eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.<\/p>\n
High wind gusts could down tree limbs and power lines, resulting in a few outages, the weather service warns. Unsecured objects, including some Halloween decorations, could be blown around as well.<\/p>\n
Driving high profile vehicles in high winds could become difficult, the weather service cautions.<\/p>\n
The wind advisory comes as children across most of the Lehigh Valley head out for trick-or-treating Friday night<\/a>. It follows a soggy Thursday that brought some much-needed rain to the region<\/a> after weeks of mostly dry conditions. Anywhere between 1 and 3 inches of rain fell across most of the region, according to the weather service.<\/p>\n After the winds calm down by midnight, a pleasant weekend will follow. Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature around 60, according to the weather service forecast. The next chance for rain will be Monday night.<\/p>\n Here is the extended forecast from the National Weather Service:<\/p>\n Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph.<\/p>\n Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 41. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.<\/p>\n Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 58. West wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.<\/p>\n Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm.<\/p>\n Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 59. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.<\/p>\n Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39.<\/p>\n Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 60.<\/p>\n Monday Night: A chance of showers between 8pm and 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 42.
