Two people were injured in a pair of unrelated shootings that happened within a period of about 30 minutes Monday night in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
Authorities said a 35-year-old woman was hospitalized in critical condition after she was shot in the chest at around 11:15 p.m. in the area of 12th Street and Fairmount Avenue in North Philadelphia<\/a>.<\/p>\n Investigators believe a large fight was happening on the 600 block of N. 12th Street when someone threw a rock through the front window of a house. Someone inside came to the entrance and opened fire; then, a man in a red hooded sweatshirt ran to the door and fired into the home, law enforcement officials added.<\/p>\n Later, a man was spotted leaving the property and throwing something into a nearby storm drain, according to the PPD. No arrests have been reported.<\/p>\n Less than a half an hour earlier, just after 10:45 p.m., officers were called to the 5900 block of Jackson Street in Wissinoming, where a 28-year-old man told them he had shot another man, authorities said.<\/p>\n A witness took the gunshot victim, a 31-year-old man, to a nearby fire station, and he was then transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, the PPD said. He was listed in stable condition with a wound to his leg.<\/p>\n Detectives think the violence stemmed from a dispute over a parking spot. Law enforcement searched the shooter\u2019s apartment and found a black handgun.<\/p>\n The PPD said the suspect was taken into custody.
