Some championship hardware will be at stake when the Octagon touches down in the City of Brotherly Love later this summer.<\/p>\n
The Las Vegas-based promotion confirmed that UFC 330<\/a> will be headlined by a welterweight title tilt between Islam Makhachev<\/a> and Ian Garry<\/a>, while Mackenzie Dern<\/a> will defend her strawweight crown against Gillian Robertson<\/a> in the evening\u2019s co-main event. Both matchups have been rumored for quite some time but had not been officially announced by the UFC<\/a> until Wednesday. UFC 330 takes place on Aug. 15 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia and airs in its entirety on Paramount+.<\/p>\n After a successful reign at 155 pounds that included four successful title defenses, Makhachev moved up to welterweight at UFC 322, where he claimed that division\u2019s belt with a dominant five-round verdict against Jack Della Maddalena<\/a> this past November. The 34-year-old Dagestani\u2019s current UFC winning streak sits at 16 \u2014 tied with Anderson Silva<\/a> for the longest in promotion history.<\/p>\n Garry, meanwhile, has been victorious in 10 of his 11 UFC appearances. After suffering a hard-fought decision defeat to Shavkat Rakhmonov<\/a> at UFC 310 in December 2024, the Irishman reasserted himself as a championship contender by posting back-to-back triumphs over Carlos Prates<\/a> and Belal Muhammad<\/a>.<\/p>\n A New Era at Strawweight<\/p>\n When Weili Zhang<\/a> vacated the strawweight belt to pursue title dreams at 125 pounds, Dern capitalized, outpointing Virna Jandiroba<\/a> to claim 115-pound gold at UFC 320 last October. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace has won three straight UFC outings and owns notable wins over the likes of Amanda Ribas<\/a>, Lupita Godinez<\/a>, Angela Hill<\/a>, Tecia Pennington<\/a> and Jandiroba (twice).<\/p>\n Robertson will take a five-bout winning streak into the matchup with Dern. The 31-year-old Canadian was successful in her first appearance of 2026, as she earned a unanimous decision over Amanda Lemos<\/a> at UFC Fight Night 269 on March 14.
