Some championship hardware will be at stake when the Octagon
\ntouches down in the City of Brotherly Love later this summer.<\/p>\n

The Las Vegas-based promotion confirmed that UFC
\n330<\/a> will be headlined by a welterweight title tilt between
\nIslam
\nMakhachev<\/a> and Ian Garry<\/a>,
\nwhile Mackenzie
\nDern<\/a> will defend her strawweight crown against Gillian
\nRobertson<\/a> in the evening\u2019s co-main event. Both matchups have
\nbeen rumored for quite some time but had not been officially
\nannounced by the
\nUFC<\/a> until Wednesday. UFC 330 takes place on Aug. 15 at Xfinity
\nMobile Arena in Philadelphia and airs in its entirety on
\nParamount+.<\/p>\n

After a successful reign at 155 pounds that included four
\nsuccessful title defenses, Makhachev moved up to welterweight at
\nUFC 322, where he claimed that division\u2019s belt with a dominant
\nfive-round verdict against Jack
\nDella Maddalena<\/a> this past November. The 34-year-old Dagestani\u2019s
\ncurrent UFC winning streak sits at 16 \u2014 tied with Anderson
\nSilva<\/a> for the longest in promotion history.<\/p>\n

Garry, meanwhile, has been victorious in 10 of his 11 UFC
\nappearances. After suffering a hard-fought decision defeat to
\nShavkat
\nRakhmonov<\/a> at UFC 310 in December 2024, the Irishman reasserted
\nhimself as a championship contender by posting back-to-back
\ntriumphs over Carlos
\nPrates<\/a> and Belal
\nMuhammad<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A New Era at Strawweight

\nWhen Weili Zhang<\/a>
\nvacated the strawweight belt to pursue title dreams at 125 pounds,
\nDern capitalized, outpointing Virna
\nJandiroba<\/a> to claim 115-pound gold at UFC 320 last October. The
\nBrazilian jiu-jitsu ace has won three straight UFC outings and owns
\nnotable wins over the likes of Amanda
\nRibas<\/a>, Lupita
\nGodinez<\/a>, Angela
\nHill<\/a>, Tecia
\nPennington<\/a> and Jandiroba (twice).<\/p>\n

Robertson will take a five-bout winning streak into the matchup
\nwith Dern. The 31-year-old Canadian was successful in her first
\nappearance of 2026, as she earned a unanimous decision over
\nAmanda
\nLemos<\/a> at UFC Fight Night 269 on March 14. Her current run also
\nincludes triumphs against the likes of Marina
\nRodriguez<\/a>, Luana
\nPinheiro<\/a>, Michelle
\nWaterson-Gomez<\/a> and Polyana
\nViana<\/a>.<\/p>\n
