\n\t\t\t\t\t\tA firefighter and the tenant of a home were taken to the hospital after a fire in Pittsburgh’s Overbrook neighborhood. Pittsburgh Public Safety said the fire started just before 9 p.m. Wednesday night on Odette Street. Flames ripped through the home and threatened the home next door. The tenant was taken to the hospital for burns and is stable. The firefighter was transported for heat exhaustion and dehydration, but is also stable. Neighbors Brandace Bunce and Alex Karg jumped into action when they saw flames coming from their neighbor\u2019s home.”The first thing was we were making sure he was out of the house. We did see him run behind the house. Fortunately, he grabbed his dog,” Karg said.”We did what we could. I feel like for the community and, you know, got everybody out that we could make sure any neighbors surrounding, like, us, for good. We were all ready to kind of like, move. We had, like, cars moved everything by the time everybody got here,” Bunce said.Crews worked for hours to get the flames under control, but the fire left the home as a skeleton of its former self. “Everybody on the street was out here. Every single neighbor kept running to all the houses right here. And I kept yelling. We kept yelling. Nobody’s in the houses, nobody’s in the houses. But the community gathered together so fast,” Karg said.The fire started in the kitchen and was ruled an accident. The Red Cross is helping.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
