{"id":222732,"date":"2026-06-18T23:36:06","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T23:36:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/222732\/"},"modified":"2026-06-18T23:36:06","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T23:36:06","slug":"reading-ethics-board-fines-vanessa-campos-for-campaign-violation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/222732\/","title":{"rendered":"Reading ethics board fines Vanessa Campos for campaign violation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>City Councilwoman Vanessa Campos has been fined $250 for violating the city\u2019s ethics code by using official city resources to support her political campaign, according to a final order issued by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.readingpa.gov\/board-of-ethics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Reading Board of Ethics<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a decision issued May 5 and distributed Wednesday, the board accepted the recommendation of its investigating officer and concluded that Campos violated the city\u2019s Code of Ethics by using the city seal and city business cards in support of her campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The board also found that she used her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/councilorcampos1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">official city Facebook page<\/a> to host and support her political campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Campos was not immediately available for comment.<\/p>\n<p>The order states that the board\u2019s investigating officer issued a report on the findings March 11.
