A\u00a0 jury deliberated for only 25 minutes Wednesday before returning a guilty verdict against an Archbald man accused of violent sexual assault.<\/p>\n
Evan Quinnan, 36, was convicted of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion and simple assault causing bodily Injury following the two-day trial.<\/p>\n
On Oct. 3, 2025, Quinnan attacked his victim, leaving her with bruises and a black eye, Lackawanna County District Attorney Brian Gallagher said in a press release.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe defendant further tortured the victim in ways that are not appropriate to identify,\u201d Gallagher continued.<\/p>\n
The Times-Tribune does not identify victims of sexual assault.<\/p>\n
Following the verdict, Judge Andy Jarbola revoked Quinnan\u2019s bail and ordered that he undergo an evaluation by the Pennsylvania Sexual Offender Assessment Board to determine whether he meets the criteria to be designated a sexually violent predator.<\/p>\n
Quinnan faces a maximum sentence of 22 years in prison.<\/p>\n
The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Bo Loughey and Assistant District Attorney Tara Foley, and investigated by Officer Mark Waters of the Archbald Police Department.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis verdict is about justice for a victim who endured horrific physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. It took tremendous courage for her to come forward and relive these traumatic events in a courtroom,\u201d Gallagher said.<\/p>\n
