Colorado made out with a 2-1 win, but the Pirates thought they had tied the game in the top of the ninth inning.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\"><a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_sports_article_main-content_article-body_6_7290454\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/link.podtrac.com\/dmwdd_article\">ZERO BS. The infielder charged the ball and met baserunner Billy Cook simultaneously. The umpires called everyone safe on the field, which would have led to a tie game. Karros was in disbelief as he <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_sports_article_main-content_article-body_6_7290455\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/sports\/rockies-interim-manager-warren-schaeffer-goes-ballistic-after-first-career-ejection\">signaled to his manager<\/a> to challenge the call.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">After the umpires met, Cook was called out for baserunner interference. <a data-omtr-intcmp=\"fnc_sports_article_main-content_article-body_6_7290456\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/sports\/pirates-oneil-cruz-gets-taken-out-game-baserunning-blunder-admits-he-lost-track-outs\">Pittsburgh manager Don Kelly<\/a> was irate.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">&#8220;The runner failed to avoid the defender in the act of fielding the baseball; therefore, he\u2019s called out. (David Zalubowski\/AP)<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Karros said Cook\u2019s cleat &#8220;kind of clipped my glove&#8221; during the play.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Kelly said he agreed that Cook hit Karros\u2019 glove when he was running to third base. However, he didn\u2019t understand why the umpires had to huddle to get the call correct.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Cook added that he didn\u2019t think he made contact until he saw the replay.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">&#8220;Just unfortunate how that played out,&#8221; he continued.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">Pirates first baseman Spencer Horwitz hit a home run in the first inning \u2013 it accounted for Pittsburgh\u2019s only run in the loss.<\/p>\n<p data-layout-index=\"5\">T.J. Rumfield had the other RBI for Colorado.
