UTICA, N.Y. \u2014 The Utica Comets picked up their first win of the season Saturday night, while handing the Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton Penguins their first road loss.<\/p>\n
Utica scored two power-play goals, adding one in each period as the Comets got the 3-1 win Saturday night at the Adirondack Bank Center.<\/p>\n
It was the Comets\u2019 first win, improving to 1-6-1, while the Penguins dropped to 8-2.<\/p>\n
Utica opened up a 2-0 lead in the second period on Angus Crookshank\u2019s third goal of the year, and Mike Hardman\u2019s power-play score three minutes into the second period.<\/p>\n
The Penguins got on the board at the end of the second as Aidan McDonough scored on Danton Heinen\u2019s assist at the 18:39 mark of the period.<\/p>\n
But Utica put it away with 21 seconds left as Jonathan Gruden got an empty-netter on a power play to set the final score. Sergei Murashov stopped 17 of 19 shots for WBS.<\/p>\n
