(WHTM)\u2013 A proposed bill in the Pennsylvania State House would prohibit employers from banning their employees from keeping firearms in their vehicles.<\/p>\n
Under the legislation, proposed by State Rep. Rob Kauffman (R-89), employers would not be able to take any action against individuals who legally keep a firearm locked in their vehicle in a parking lot where they are lawfully in, and it would prohibit them from violating employees\u2019 privacy rights.<\/p>\n

They would also be restricted from discriminating against individuals or expelling a customer from the premises because a legal firearm is in their vehicle, the memo said.<\/p>\n The memo said that the legislation would make exceptions in places where firearm possession is prohibited under state and federal law, including on school property and in correctional facilities.<\/p>\n Similar legislation has been passed in Florida, Georgia, Alaska, Kentucky, and Mississippi.<\/p>\n The legislation has not yet been submitted for introduction.<\/p>\n Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
