IT\u2019S ALL TO DO WITH WHETHER EMPLOYERS CAN BAN THEIR EMPLOYEES FROM HAVING A GUN ON THEIR PERSON, BUT IN THEIR VEHICLE IN THE PARKING LOT. FRANKLIN COUNTY, REPUBLICAN STATE REPRESENTATIVE ROB KAUFMAN\u2019S PROPOSAL WOULD MAKE IT SO EMPLOYERS AND OTHER PROPERTY OWNERS COULD NOT PUNISH SOMEONE, DENY THEM ENTRY, OR DISCRIMINATE AGAINST THEM FOR ILLEGALLY STORING A FIREARM IN THEIR CAR BECAUSE THE MEMO SAYS IT WOULD NOT APPLY. WHERE FIREARMS ARE ALREADY PROHIBITED BY LAW. THE BILL WOULD INCLUDE SOME EXCEPTIONS, INCLUDING SCHOOL PROPERTY, CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES AND CERTAIN SITES TIED TO NATIONAL DEFENSE, AEROSPACE, DOMESTIC SECURITY AND EVEN EXPLOSIVES RELATED SPACES.
