Mike Meyers hit the game-winning double in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Green Ridge a 3-2 victory over Carbino\/Archbald in a District 32 9-10-11 Little League Baseball game Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Meyers\u2019 double scored Leland Kearney, who also doubled. Meyers also was the winning pitcher, striking out 11 in a complete-game effort.\u00a0Jordy Vescovi, Will Mackrell and Chris Butler all added hits for Green Ridge.<\/p>\n
Aiden LaCoe had a two-run double for Carbino\/Archbald. \u00a0Tyler Smolko and Leo Heim also had hits.<\/p>\n
Wallenpaupack 11, Mid Valley 1: At Green Ridge, Mason Genovese, Max Swanick, Jaxon Wentzel, Jeff Swanick and Oliver Opalek each had two hits for Wallenpaupack. One of Wentzel\u2019s hit was a double. Tre Foster was the winning pitcher.<\/p>\n
Jack Gavin had the lone hit for Mid Valley.<\/p>\n
District 17 Majors Softball<\/p>\n
At North Pocono Dandy Lion, Arya Ameika went 3 for 3 to spark North Pocono\/Jefferson to a 9-7 victory over Dingman Delaware in a District 17 Majors Softball game Tuesday. Ameika had singles in the first, third and fifth innings and also stole two bases.<\/p>\n
Aubrey Gebhardt pitched 4.2 innings of relief with seven strikeouts to get the win. She also drove in two runs, including the game\u2019s first run in the bottom of the first.<\/p>\n
Penny Gardner\u2019s RBI single for Dingman Delaware in the top of the second tied the game. But North Pocono\/Jefferson reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the inning, 3-1, on a RBI groundout from Alivia Strauser and RBI single from Anna Tucky. Payton Schmidt\u2019s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third made it 4-1.<\/p>\n
Again, Dingman Delaware rallied to tie. A walk by Mia Hernandez and RBI singles from Ava Scheo and Brielle Wulf tied the score, 4-4.<\/p>\n
But in the bottom of the fourth, North Pocono\/Jefferson scored three times. Nora Havenstrite drew a bases-loaded walk and Emma Nicholson stole home to highlight the inning.<\/p>\n
