Photo courtesy of\u00a0Arthur Chauvineau<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0Unsplash<\/a><\/p>\n Community Days 2026\u00a0will be a full nine days\u00a0of events planned on the campus of Governor Mifflin Intermediate School, 600 Governor Dr., Shillington,\u00a0for\u00a0its\u00a0monumental 50th annual festival.<\/p>\n Special activities include\u00a0a\u00a050th\u00a0Anniversary Day on Sunday, June 26,\u00a0featuring\u00a0the 50th Anniversary\u00a0Parade presented by Mailshark at 4 p.m., followed by\u00a0a ceremony\u00a0at the Penske Transportation\u00a0Solutions\u00a0Main Stage at 5 p.m. with appearances by local lawmakers, The Patriotic Order Sons of America,\u00a0Eric Richardson as Abraham Lincoln reciting The Gettysburg Address, and 400 ceremonial cupcakes free of charge for patrons.\u00a0A Spectacular\u00a0Fireworks Show by International Fireworks will close the festival\u00a0on Saturday, July 4. This\u00a0will be the\u00a0largest\u00a0fireworks\u00a0presentation\u00a0in the Greater Governor Mifflin League\u2019s history to coincide with the 250th\u00a0anniversary of the U.S.<\/p>\n This year\u2019s Community Days\u00a0will run from\u00a0Friday, June 26, to Saturday, July 4,\u00a0with all of the rides, games, entertainment, and food that fairgoers have come to\u00a0love\u00a0for 50 years. Community Days will also have\u00a0nightly 50\/50\u00a0raffles\u00a0and a nightly pick-a-prize auction.\u00a0The fair will remain a 100% free entry experience.\u00a0Also, for guests\u2019 convenience, First Student will provide shuttle bus parking from both the Governor Mifflin Senior High School and the Governor Mifflin Middle School\u00a0parking lots free of charge\u00a0throughout each day of the festival.\u00a0The parking at both lots is\u00a0handicap accessible,\u00a0along with a handicap-accessible\u00a0bus.\u00a0Each bus\u00a0will drop off\u00a0at\u00a0the main entrance\u00a0for easy access and limited walking between concessions and entertainment.<\/p>\n The Greater Governor Mifflin League was founded in 1976 as\u00a0a\u00a0nonprofit organization devoted to giving back to the community. In every year since, the Greater Governor Mifflin League has presented a unique community fair featuring food, games, rides, and some of the best regional\u00a0and national\u00a0entertainment, including a fireworks show, which will culminate this year on Saturday, July\u00a04. Its main goal has been to return proceeds from the fair back into the community in the form of contributions to local fire companies, ambulance associations, community projects, scout troops, school projects, and scholarships, just to name a few.
